Technical Requirements for the Creation of Layouts and Artworks for Your S.T.A.M.P.S.

  1. File Format
    For Apple Macintosh
    • Freehand to Version 8.0
    • Adobe Illustrator to Version 8.0
    • Adobe Photoshop to Version 6.0
    For MS Windows
    • Page Maker to Version 6.5
  2. Picture Formats
    Please, save pictures imported into the layout programs listed above, as files in the following formats, and submit them together with your layout:
    • Photoshop TIFF or
    • Photoshop EPS in 300 pixels/inch at 100% size, colour mode CMYK
  3. Fonts
    Please, also submit fonts used in the layout which were not converted into rendering.
  4. Data transfer
    Please, send us the data on a data carrier as listed in Section 5.
    Please, ensure that all the pictures and fonts required are included.
    Create a directory called "Timehouse" with the following 3 sub directories:
    • "Documents" (for final layout documents)
    • "Pictures" (for pictures and EPS documents which were imported into the final layout document)
    • "Fonts" (for fonts which were used in the final layout document and in the imported EPS document)
    Please, ensure that the complete Type is submitted with the fonts.
  5. Data Carriers
    • Iomega Jaz 1000
    • CD
    • Iomega ZIP
  6. Colors
    Colors can only be printed as 4c/Euroscale.
    Please, do not use colors such as Pantone, HKS or Real Echtton.
  7. Trim
    Please, include a 3 mm trim around the top, bottom, left and right sides of the strip.
  8. Specifications
    The S.T.A.M.P.S. logo should appear on each watch, but its color may be altered to suit your design.
    Please, take the following aspects into consideration when designing your watch and positioning the logotype:
    • The protruding hand mount in the middle of the watch.
    • The glass rim, which has an internal diameter of 35 mm and an external diameter of 38 mm.
    • The perforations on the outer edges.
  9. Index
    You may choose any time index (division into seconds, minutes and hours) as you like.
    Please, take the following specifications into consideration when designing your time index:
    • Hour hand: 7.5 mm × 1 mm (length × width).
    • Minute hand: 11 mm × 1 mm (length × width).
    • Second hand: 11 mm × 05 mm (length × width).
    There should be at least 2 mm free space between the index and the glass rim.
  10. Artwork File
    Please, create your design file -- software permitting -- with the following levels:
    • Watch glass
    • Hands (with details of the colors for all three hands)
    • Perforation
    • Numbers (for time index)
    • Logotype (for the S.T.A.M.P.S. logotype)
    • Pictures (for the actual layout)
  11. Support Material
    We offer the following support material to help you design your S.T.A.M.P.S. with a minimum of effort:
    • A CD with a design file in Freehand 8.0, complete with the necessary design levels (see Section 10) and 8 different time index layouts.
